ALEO Sinks 13% as Bedrock Gives Back Yesterday’s Gain and Arbitrum Lags a Green Market

While 384 coins in the CoinGecko sample closed green, three names finished in the red. ALEO lost 13.1%, Bedrock 9.5% and Arbitrum 4.8% — and each of those declines has its own logic, though none of them was caused by panic across the market.

The backdrop was close to idyllic: Bitcoin added 1.34% to $82,973, Ethereum rose 1.74% to $2,447.77, and total market capitalization climbed to $2.80 trillion. On a day like that, a double-digit decline does not come from macro data or from headlines out of Washington. It comes from inside the project itself.

ALEO (ALEO): −13.1%

What is ALEO?

Aleo is a layer-1 network built around privacy and zero-knowledge proofs. The idea is ambitious and slightly romantic: smart contracts in which transactions stay hidden while their correctness can be proven mathematically. Unlike most proof-of-stake networks, Aleo long insisted on mining and on the principle that privacy should not be paid for with throughput. The project raised $200 million from investors including SoftBank and Kora Management in 2022 and was then worth more than any other project in its niche.

Why is it falling?

ALEO dropped 13.12% to $0.0436 on just $3.2 million of volume against a $65.7 million market cap. That ratio is the key detail: volume below five percent of capitalization means the order book is thin and every seller who wants out moves price further than the trade deserves. For tokens like this, no major news is required — a handful of holders deciding they have had enough is sufficient.

The wider picture is worse. Aleo reached $6.72 in January 2024, at the height of the zero-knowledge hype cycle, and has since lost 99.35% of its value. That stops being a correction and becomes a question of survival: investors who bought the top have lost nearly everything, and the token now trades below four cents. Nothing specifically bad happened in the past 24 hours — but for a project sliding downhill for two years, any day without good news is a bad day.

Bedrock (BR): −9.5%

What is Bedrock?

Bedrock is a restaking and liquid restaking protocol operating across multiple chains at once — it lets the same capital simultaneously secure several networks, earn yield for doing so, and issue a receipt token that can be used further. The BR token governs the protocol and serves as collateral inside its security system. The model has been popular since 2024, when EigenLayer demonstrated that restaking could be sold as a financial product rather than merely a technical capability.

Why is it falling?

Bedrock was yesterday’s star: it rose 53.8% and led the gainers table. Today it fell 9.47% to $0.643 on $39.9 million of volume — nearly a fifth of its market capitalization. This is not a collapse; it is a bill arriving for collection. When a token gains fifty percent in a day, some holders will inevitably take profit, and at a $190 million market cap that exit leaves a visible scar.

Notably, price fell as low as $0.562 during the session, roughly 25% below the previous day’s level, before recovering to $0.643. That is a textbook post-pump pattern: the first wave of selling triggers panic, panic triggers a second wave, and then buyers who missed the initial move step in “on the dip.” Bedrock remains 52.3% below its $1.35 high, leaving open the question of whether this is a pause or the start of a longer descent.

Arbitrum (ARB): −4.8%

What is Arbitrum?

Arbitrum is the largest layer-2 network on Ethereum by total value locked and one of the few rollups that has genuinely absorbed a meaningful share of activity from the main chain. Instead of executing every transaction on Ethereum, it executes off to the side and posts proof back — lower fees with the same security foundation. ARB is a governance token: it is not used to pay for transactions, but to vote on protocol direction and treasury allocations.

Why is it falling?

ARB lost 4.81% to $0.1875 on $251 million of volume against a $1.29 billion market cap — by far the heaviest turnover among today’s losers. The percentage decline is not dramatic, but it matters in context: the entire market rose while this token fell. When a large asset declines as everything else gains, capital is usually rotating out of it toward something else rather than fleeing the project in distress.

There is also a structural reason. ARB has no mechanism tying token price to network revenue — fees are paid in ETH, and the token exists for voting. When the market rallies, money flows toward names with clearer returns: lending protocols, fee-generating exchanges, tokenized yield. Governance tokens without a direct dividend get left at the curb on days like this. Arbitrum sits 92.2% below its $2.39 high from March 2024, and that single number contains the whole story.

Other notable declines

Quack AI (Q) fell 6.97% at a $584.6 million market cap — the largest project among today’s losers by value, despite a moderate percentage. MX Token dropped 9.89%, DUSK 5.15%, Backpack 4.80%, GMX 4.20%, and Morpho 3.65% at a $1.69 billion market cap. At the very bottom sit the micro-caps: Alaya AI (−28.7%, with $43.5 million of volume against effectively zero capitalization) and Epic Chain (−23.1%) — examples of tokens where turnover dwarfs project value several times over, always a sign that an idea is being traded rather than an asset.
