Bitcoin rose 2.48% to $83,442 while Ethereum climbed 3.56% to $2,467, and 78% of the 500 largest cryptocurrencies closed the day in the green.
The market rarely looks this tidy. Of 483 coins in the sample, 377 posted a positive 24-hour move, total capitalization sits at $2.81 trillion, and turnover over the past day reached $136 billion. That is enough money to settle the annual budget of a smaller European country — except nothing gets built here, it merely moves from one account to another.
Bitcoin dominance holds at 59.56%, Ethereum at 10.71%. The real story sits in stablecoins: USDT alone carries 6.49% of the market and USDC another 2.60%, so more than nine percent of all crypto capitalization is parked in dollar-pegged tokens. That is the oxygen of this market — nobody celebrates it, but nothing breathes without it. USDT volume of $52.5 billion in 24 hours is larger than the turnover of every altcoin combined.
The context remains uncomfortable. Bitcoin trades 33.8% below its all-time high of $126,080, and Ethereum sits exactly at half price — 50.1% under the $4,946 recorded at the peak. This is not a return to old highs; this is the team that trails 2-0 at halftime and scores in the 60th minute. The crowd jumps, the pundits praise the character, but the match has not turned.
The heavyweights: XRP leads, Solana breathes down its neck
XRP is the strongest of the top ten with a 4.62% gain to $1.36, a market cap of $85.6 billion and $1.7 billion in volume. ADA follows at 4.60% to $0.2258, though it remains 92.7% below its $3.09 peak — in football terms, a club that once played in the Champions League and now fights relegation.
Solana added 2.71% to $106.82, with a $63 billion market cap and $2.7 billion in turnover. The chain that spent years as a synonym for speed and for network outages now trades 63.6% below $293.31, with 589.5 million tokens circulating out of 636.2 million total. Chainlink gained 3.87% to $12.39, Dogecoin 3.85% to $0.082, and BNB 2.52% to $746.35 on a $98.2 billion valuation. Hyperliquid rose 4.28% to $81.37, while Tron was the lone decliner among the majors at -0.42% to $0.3306.
Zcash: a 13% jump and a vote that looks like Swiss democracy
The most interesting move of the day comes from the privacy camp. Zcash surged 13.24% to $1,285.10, lifting its market cap to $21.9 billion on $1.1 billion in volume. The weekly gain is a more modest 3.83%, which suggests today’s spike is a one-off impulse rather than a trend.
The trigger was unusual: the largest ZEC holder vote on record, in which 2.4 million coins backed continuing the halving schedule by a margin of 106 to 1. A referendum where citizens decide whether to cut inflation in their own currency — and approve it almost unanimously. The crypto world rarely looks this disciplined, and even more rarely this Swiss.
Even so, Zcash trades 59.7% below its all-time high of $3,191.93, with 17.0 million tokens circulating against a nearly identical total supply. The rally is impressive, but it reads more like a restoration of dignity than a new peak.
NEAR wakes up, Monero stays quiet
NEAR Protocol gained 10.75% to $5.17 on a $6.8 billion market cap and $1.5 billion in volume — well above its usual turnover for a project of that size. The weekly move is +2.77%, meaning today’s jump is the first real sign of life after a long silence. The student who slept through the first two lectures and then showed up at the exam with the answers.
Monero slipped 0.82% to $603.35 but holds a weekly gain of 8.23% and a market cap of $11.3 billion. Two privacy coins, two different rhythms: Zcash grabbed the headlines while Monero stayed in the shadow — which is, ironically, exactly what Monero wants.
Local angle: cash from the kiosk goes straight into Bitcoin
The domestic story of the day does not come from an exchange but from a newsstand. Tisak has rolled out crypto vouchers across 800 kiosks, routing cash from hand directly into BTC and ETH. The first ATM in town did not change banking, but it changed a habit — people stopped treating a bank branch as the only address for money. A voucher at the kiosk does the same job, minus the queue and minus the counter.
Side show: IOST +86%, UMXM -24%
IOST exploded 86.64% on a market cap of just $55 million and $201 million in volume. When turnover runs 3.6 times the market value, that is not investing — that is musical chairs, and someone ends up standing. A similar story on a smaller scale: CVX +23.08% at a $244 million valuation, AI +21.84%, MAGMA +21.73%, PEARL +19.62% with a market cap of $825 million.
On the other side: UMXM -24.41%, MX -13.49% at $154 million, BR -12.05%, ALEO -9.66%, BAT -9.62% on $49 million in volume — nearly a fifth of its market cap. When a token that was once part of everyday browsing loses a fifth of its value on a day when 78% of the market rises, that is not a correction, that is a verdict.
What the numbers say
A green day with 78% of coins advancing and Bitcoin up 2.48% looks like a convincing reversal. Three things keep it grounded: Bitcoin dominance above 59% means capital is not rotating aggressively into altcoins, stablecoins hold nine percent of the market, and both leading assets remain far below their highs. A 2.5% gain inside a 34% drawdown is not a reversal — it is a twitch.
The spread between winners and losers is enormous: IOST +86% and UMXM -24% on the same day describe a market that rewards liquidity and punishes everything else. When that kind of dispersion appears, capital is scarce and moving fast — and speed is the only thing on this market that never declines.
