ATH (All-Time High) and ATL (All-Time Low) are two terms that appear in every other crypto article. Simply put: ATH is the highest price a coin has ever reached, ATL is the lowest.
What Is ATH?
ATH (All-Time High) is the highest price a cryptocurrency has reached since its inception. For Bitcoin, the ATH is $108,786 (January 2025). For Ethereum, it’s $4,878 (November 2021).
ATH is an important indicator because it shows growth potential and serves as a psychological level — when price approaches ATH, optimism and media attention increase.
What Is ATL?
ATL (All-Time Low) is the lowest price a coin has ever seen. For Bitcoin, the ATL is practically zero (~$0.0008 in 2010). For newer coins, ATL is often the listing day price.
Why Are They Important?
ATH shows the upper boundary and measures distance from the peak. ATL is mostly historical curiosity but useful for assessing if a coin is at historically low levels.
