Bitcoin Slips to $76,030 as the Market Sheds 7.17%: $2.55 Trillion and Fear at 28

Bitcoin slid to $76,030, down 5.32% in 24 hours, while total crypto market capitalization dropped to $2.55 trillion — a 7.17% haircut in a single session. The daily range ran from $80,332 at the top to $75,230 at the bottom, a selloff that erased more value in a few hours than Zcash is worth in its entirety. The Fear and Greed Index collapsed from yesterday’s 50, “neutral”, to 28 — “fear”. A 22-point drop in one day is not a mood swing. That is the crowd leaving the stadium before the final whistle.

Eighty thousand was yesterday, a different movie

Bitcoin closes the week down 2.17%, the month down 9.19%, and sits 39.7% below its all-time high of $126,080. Twenty-four hours ago the scoreboard read $80,332. It now reads $76,030. What looked like consolidation under eighty thousand turned into a scene from a disaster film where nobody remembers where the exit door was.

Ethereum took the harder hit. Price fell to $2,239.69, down 7.39%, inside a range of $2,419.17 to $2,208.54. Against an all-time high of $4,946.05, Ether trades 54.72% lower — more than half its value gone in silence. The ETH/BTC ratio slipped to roughly 0.0295, a level that promises the altcoin season nothing but another winter. The 30-day balance for ETH is minus 13.17% while the weekly figure is only minus 0.32%, which means today’s blow accounts for almost the entire week’s story.

The big names did not sit this one out

XRP fell 9.23% to $1.20 and took the dubious title of worst performer among the majors. Solana lost 6.36% and trades at $90.29, with a 30-day loss of 23.25% — the chain that was recently the speed of light is now the speed of sliding down a staircase. Cardano sits at $0.1864, down 5.83% and a full 93.96% below its all-time high. Dogecoin at $0.07255 is off 5.56% and 90.08% from its peak.

Chainlink trades at $10.85, down 5.86%. Bitcoin Cash dropped 7.71% to $266.79. Stellar lost 7.05% to $0.1543, NEAR 6.99% to $3.73, Uniswap 5.95% to $6.98. BNB held up best among the majors: $695.41, down 2.88%, inside a range of $716.30 to $683.73. Hyperliquid sits at $78.51, down 4.68%, with a market cap of $18.8 billion. Total 24-hour volume across the market reached $106.85 billion — that is not liquidity, that is an evacuation with luggage.

Zcash and Monero: the panic room nobody left

While everything around them burned, the privacy coins held the line like the last defender on the penalty spot. Zcash fell just 2.2% to $1,288.77 and finishes the week up 1.13%. With a market cap of $21.93 billion, ZEC is the tenth-largest crypto asset on the planet — a sentence that would have sounded like a translation error a year ago. It sits 59.62% below its all-time high of $3,191.93, but on a day when everything else loses 7%, minus two counts as a win.

Monero is sturdier still. A price of $618.04 means minus 2.96% over 24 hours, but plus 4.30% on the week and plus 11.51% on the month. It ranks twelfth with a market cap of $11.64 billion. Against an all-time high of $797.73, XMR is only 22.53% lower — a number that looks like somebody forgot to tell Monero the bear is awake.

Winners: a handful of heroes in a sea of red

The winners’ list, filtered to coins above $100 million in market cap, held barely a dozen names. AKE leads with a 96.79% gain to $0.00503705 — though it closes the week down 73.27%, the classic bounce off a floor that was already broken. BTW added 10.87% to $1.14 on a $1.72 billion market cap. WLFI strengthened 6.87% to $0.0469 with $1.49 billion in capitalization.

HASH rose 6.27%, PIEVERSE 5.66% to $1.40 with a weekly gain of 42.88% — the only names that actually did something this week. CAP added 4.87%, Q 4.49%, ARB 2.64% to $0.1679. PEPE turned green by 1.85% to $0.00000505, proving that even a memecoin can carry itself with dignity, at least for a day. XDC closed the list with plus 1.56%.

Losers: who ran through the door first

On the other end, CARDS lost 24.22% and fell to $0.2213, with a weekly loss of 18.22%. FLUID dropped 13.62% to $2.31 even though its week still stands at plus 25.65% — volatility operating as a rollercoaster without a safety bar. XTZ fell 12.53% to $0.2576, DRV 12.27%, PONS 12.26% to $0.1912 with a weekly loss of 20.69%.

NPC lost 10.78%, SYRUP 10.56%, GRASS 10.47% with a weekly loss of 16.1%, XPL 10.07% and 23.67% over seven days. STABLE fell 9.44% to $0.0259, an irony a screenwriter would reject as too on the nose.

Stablecoins: the only part of the system holding formation

Tether trades at $0.998962, USDC at $0.999453, USDS at exactly $1.00, DAI at $1.00, Ethena USDe at $0.998655. Nothing spectacular, nothing alarming — and that is precisely the point. When the market loses 7.17% in a day, stability is a luxury good. The $106.85 billion in 24-hour volume shows money moved, but it moved toward the exit, not the entrance.

Structure: 22,841 assets, one dominant narrative

Bitcoin dominance stands at 59.84%, higher than yesterday, and it is the only data point that makes sense on a day like this: when everything falls, capital flees to the largest and most liquid asset, even while that asset falls too. Ethereum dominance is 10.72% and sliding. The market counts 22,841 active cryptocurrencies across 1,522 exchanges, and the $2.55 trillion total is 7.17% lighter than it was twenty-four hours ago.

Technically, $75,230 is the level Bitcoin touched and rejected. If that level breaks, the next stop is the psychological zone below $75,000, where the conversation stops being about cycles and starts being about survival. If $76,000 holds into the daily close, the story reverts to “correction within a trend”. The difference between those two sentences is an entire season, and right now that difference weighs $1,100.

A Fear and Greed reading of 28 has historically preceded local bottoms — but it has just as often preceded another bad week. Zcash and Monero are up, memecoins are surviving, stablecoins are standing still, and Bitcoin hangs above 59% dominance as the only card left in the hand. For now, that is enough. This time tomorrow, the numbers will say whether $76,000 was a floor or a springboard.
