Bitcoin fell to $76,905 over the past 24 hours, a daily drop of 1.04%, while the total crypto market capitalization slid 3.74% to $2.64 trillion. Put in numbers that sting: more than $100 billion of value evaporated in a single day. It was as if an entire mid-sized stock index had been swept off the board without anyone so much as blinking.
The statistics here are unforgiving, and a little awkward. The largest cryptocurrency lost just over one percent, but the broader market lost three times that. That is no accident โ it is rotation. Bitcoin dominance climbed to 58.32%, with Ethereum holding 11.41%. When the host of the dinner party takes a bigger and bigger slice of the bill, the other guests are evidently eating soup.
๐ Key figures (24h):
- Total market capitalization: $2.64 trillion (โ3.74%)
- 24h turnover: $88.8 billion
- BTC dominance: 58.32% | ETH dominance: 11.41%
- Active cryptocurrencies: 21,240
- Bitcoin: $76,905 (โ1.04%), MCap $1.54T, volume $32.0B
- Ethereum: $2,475.66 (โ1.25%), MCap $302.1B, volume $16.15B
Bitcoin thus sits 39% below its all-time high of $126,080. The daily range ran from $76,682 to $79,530 โ a tight, twitchy zone where every hour seemed to promise a break in one direction or the other, and in the end nothing broke except nerves. Roughly 20.08 million coins are in circulation out of a capped 21 million, leaving latecomers a remaining sliver of some 920,000 coins.
Ethereum slipped to $2,475.66, down 1.25%. The second-largest crypto trades almost 50% below its record of $4,946.05, with a market cap of $302.1 billion and daily volume of $16.15 billion. A circulating supply of roughly 122 million ETH means every percentage point here carries more weight than any press release โ Ethereum is like a tennis player who won a Grand Slam and then spent three seasons in the quarterfinals.
Solana slid to $100.78, down 0.5%, and now stands 65.6% below its peak of $293.31. The one-time speed merchant and “Ethereum killer” today looks more like a startup that survived three server outages and is still running โ just not at the price its memoirs were written about.
Among the large caps the picture is mixed. BNB holds $718.32 (โ0.44%), XRP barely pushed into the green at $1.40 (+0.27%), TRX stands at $0.3387 (โ0.35%), while Dogecoin dropped to $0.0825 (โ1.87%). Chainlink trades at $11.37 (โ0.02%), Cardano at $0.2043 (โ2.51%). With Dogecoin’s circulating supply near 155.9 billion coins, it is obvious why every cent is a battle โ and why “to the moon” remains the longest-running joke in the industry.
The day’s biggest losers come from the middle of the table. The RAIN token gave up 12.35% to $0.013206, HYPE weakened 1.3% to $78.97, and Hyperliquid rival WBT holds $79.53 (โ1.18%). The curiosity of the day is Zcash: ZEC stands at $1,130.49, practically unchanged (โ0.04%), yet that is still 64.6% below its record of $3,191.93. A coin that was long synonymous with “temporarily out of fashion” is back inside the top twenty โ as if some abandoned rock band filled an arena again.
On the other side, a few scarce green shoots. Stellar rose 2.5% to $0.19375, and Monero added 0.51% to $514.81. With roughly 21,240 active cryptocurrencies on the market, this is a choice overload โ where 95% of names are background noise and a slim few carry the whole story.
The special column of the day is stablecoins. Tether (USDT) holds a market cap of $183.4 billion on daily turnover of fully $57.2 billion, USD Coin sits at $74.1 billion, and USDS at $9.86 billion. Combined, more than $267 billion is parked in instruments that by definition go nowhere. That is the most honest fear barometer on the market โ the money did not go home, it just sat on the bench waiting to see whether the coach changes tactics.
Taken as a whole, the market is in a phase that in sport is called “a game on points.” Nobody is charging, nobody is fleeing. Bitcoin holds the line, altcoins give up ground, and stablecoins grow like an audience that bought a ticket but has not decided whether to stay to the end. If Bitcoin dominance keeps climbing toward 60%, history suggests such consolidation eventually resolves sharply โ in one direction or the other. Until then, the one near-certainty is that the $88.8 billion in 24-hour turnover will remain the place where opinions and nerves get broken.
