Bedrock gained 53.77% in 24 hours and climbed to $0.707, a move that pushed the restaking token straight into the spotlight. In the same window, HoodPork staged a full circus act at plus 210%, so the session closed with two very different kinds of euphoria: one institutionally tidy, one pure meme hysteria.
The broad picture was nowhere near as dramatic. Bitcoin slipped 0.20% to $81,887 and 0.32% on the week, Ethereum drifted 0.14% lower to $2,405, and across a sample of 492 of the most liquid coins, 275 finished green against 217 in the red. Aggregate capitalization of that sample held near $2.76 trillion. In other words, the market stood still while the surface boiled underneath.
Bedrock (BR): +53.77%
Bedrock closed the October 20 session at $0.707, effectively on its daily high of $0.6963 — the strongest possible finish. The day opened near $0.43, which makes the run from low to high roughly 64%. This is the second consecutive session of gains: by noon yesterday the token was already up 28.39%, putting the two-day performance in territory usually described as a parabola.
What is Bedrock?
Bedrock is a multi-asset liquid restaking protocol — infrastructure that lets capital, including bitcoin through the wrapped uniBTC and brBTC forms, secure networks and earn yield at the same time. The idea is as old as proof-of-stake itself: capital does not have to sit idle to be useful. Bedrock turns it liquid, issuing a derivative that can be traded while the underlying asset keeps working in the background. In practice, it is an attempt to turn bitcoin, otherwise as passive as a brick in a vault, into an interest-bearing asset.
Why is it rising?
Three things lined up. First, $21 million in volume against a $210 million market cap means a relatively thin order book — on tokens like this, $10 million of net buying moves price like $100 million would elsewhere. Second, the bitcoin yield narrative is fashionable again precisely because BTC has compressed into a tight range: when the flagship asset goes nowhere, capital hunts for a story with a coupon attached. Third, circulating supply is 296.7 million of a billion tokens, a free float near 30%, so any meaningful inflow leaves a visible mark.
The risk is equally clear. The all-time high is $1.35, which leaves the token 47.6% below its peak even after this jump. For anyone who bought the top, a 54% day did not recover half the loss. Restaking also carries its own risk stack: layered smart contracts, dependence on third-party networks, and the open question of what happens when yield falls below the opportunity cost of capital.
Gitcoin (GTC): +29.36%
Gitcoin jumped to $0.342 on $132.8 million of turnover — roughly 4.5 times its $29.6 million market cap. When volume outruns capitalization by that margin, the market is not whispering “interesting”, it is shouting “something happened”. The token is up 20.5% on the week, and a daily range from $0.2586 to $0.3722 shows the fight was fierce before buyers broke resistance.
What is Gitcoin?
Gitcoin is one of crypto’s oldest public goods — a funding platform for open-source development built on quadratic funding, a model where many small donors matter more than one large cheque. Over the years it became the reference point for a question the industry prefers to avoid: how to pay for work that everyone uses and nobody wants to fund?
Why is it rising?
GTC is the classic corpse that stood up: its all-time high is $22.37, and the current price is 98.5% below that, which means every buyer from 2021 is deeply underwater. Tokens like this have little remaining sell-side supply — anyone who wanted out is long gone. When fresh interest appears, price gaps upward without resistance. Volume at 4.5 times market cap is the signature of speculative interest rather than quiet accumulation.
Context helps. The public goods and grants narrative is returning as ecosystems tighten budgets and look for sustainable models. The question, as always, is whether this is fundamentals or simply rotation of speculative capital. When one session’s volume reaches 2.3 times market cap, the casino is open on both sides of the table.
Collector Crypt (CARDS): +28.83%
Collector Crypt added 28.83% to $0.331, with a $299 million market cap and $20.3 million in turnover. The token is up 19.3% on the week and sits just 13.1% below its all-time high of $0.3814 — the profile of a coin that is not bouncing out of a hole but trying to break its own record. A daily low of $0.2554 against a high of $0.3323 makes for a 30% range in a single session.
What is Collector Crypt?
Collector Crypt tokenizes collectibles — primarily graded Pokémon cards and sports cards — and brings them on-chain on Solana. Instead of gathering dust in a plastic holder, a card becomes part of an on-chain market: tradeable, usable as collateral, or plugged into yield strategies. This is the RWA story in its most concrete form, because the value does not depend on a new protocol but on whatever someone will pay for a 1999 Pikachu.
Why is it rising?
Collectibles found a second life this year as the market hunted for returns uncorrelated with bitcoin, and graded cards have a long price history plus measurable scarcity. A 28% move on a $300 million cap is not noise — that is a position of serious size. Circulation is 902.6 million of 1.97 billion tokens, a float near 46%, considerably healthier than the typical micro-cap issuance.
On-chain collectibles have a dark side too: liquidity depends on auctions, and valuations depend on third parties who grade the cards. When enthusiasm fades, spreads widen and selling takes longer. The all-time high is close, which is also the most dangerous zone for late buyers.
What this says about the market
The session had three separate engines. Bedrock played yield and restaking, Gitcoin played the revival of a forgotten name, Collector Crypt played tangible assets. None of those engines was bitcoin, which spent the whole day between $81,737 and $83,035. That is usually a sign of healthy risk appetite — capital is not hiding in the bunker, it is hunting stories. It is equally a sign of shallow liquidity: 275 coins green, yet the median gain is unimpressive.
