Hunter Biden’s Laptop tumbled 27% to become the day’s worst drop, while GoPlus Security and Raydium carried the red flag for the rest of the pack. As the winners partied, these tokens played extras in a scene of mass casualties.
Hunter Biden’s Laptop (LAPTOP): the meme that burned out like an old battery
If anyone thought the biggest joke in crypto was a coin’s name, LAPTOP refutes that in a single day. The meme token parodying the famous (or infamous) laptop fell 27%, from $0.43 to $0.30, nearly touching its all-time low. Its $107 million market cap sounds impressive until you remember the coin is only a few days old.
Ironic twist: this token’s ATH stands at $199.51 — and today it is worth $0.30. What looked like a genius idea at a billion euros became, in three days, a physics lesson: the faster it flies up, the faster it falls. Meme coins are like the fireworks someone sets off in the yard — five seconds of sky in colour, then half an hour of the smell of sulphur.
GoPlus Security (GPS): a security shield with a hole in it
GoPlus Security does exactly what its name says — security infrastructure for Web3, scanning smart contracts and protecting users from fraud. But the market reminded everyone that even protocols selling security are not immune to their own red candles. GPS dropped 15.8% to $0.00936.
A nearly 16% drop in a day, on a coin already 96% below its $0.22 ATH from January 2025, says there is not much room left for panic — only for quiet resignation. When a token is already that deep underwater, another drop feels less like a catastrophe and more like a bad day at the office that nobody even bothers to comment on anymore.
Raydium (RAY): the Solana DEX that lit a red candle
Raydium is one of the most important decentralized exchanges on Solana — an automated market maker processing a substantial share of all meme-coin trading. That is why its 7.7% drop is more interesting than the number itself: when a DEX falls, it usually means trading volume across the whole ecosystem is cooling too.
RAY sits at $1.54 with a $415 million market cap and a solid $97 million in volume. That is far from a dramatic collapse — more a correction after a stretch of gains. But what catches the eye is that RAY is still 90% below its $16.83 ATH from September 2021. The Solana ecosystem may have had its renaissance, but Raydium’s holders are still waiting for a return to old glory, like pension funds after 2008.
What this says about the market
When the same day delivers both a 127% jump and a 27% plunge, the message is clear: the market is in a phase of selective rotation, not broad optimism. Capital does not rise evenly — it leaps from narrative to narrative, leaving behind those who held the bag a little too long. Today, that was LAPTOP, GPS and RAY.
