Bitcoin parked, Zcash sprinting
Bitcoin has essentially stopped moving in the last 24 hours — $80,515, down 0.01% — while Zcash climbed 5.39% in the same window and pushed into tenth place on the leaderboard with a market capitalization of $20.71 billion. Total crypto market capitalization stands at $2.69 trillion, and the CoinGecko aggregate prints a daily decline of 3.66% on $53.27 billion of 24-hour volume. The gap between the first number and the total is not an arithmetic error; it is a description of the moment: core capital sits buried, and the rest of the field slides quietly downhill.
There are 22,491 active tokens in existence, and roughly a hundred of them carry volume that means anything. The rest is scenery, statistics that exist mostly to make the chart look crowded.
Bitcoin holds 60.09% of total capitalization. That is a level which leaves altcoins the leftovers of leftovers, and the altseason promised every spring — like a new season of a series that lost its writers three years ago — still refuses to premiere. Against the all-time high of $126,080, the price sits 36.1% lower. Think of the Tour de France winner who has lost four stages: still in the race, but the yellow jersey belongs to someone else, and in this case to nobody at all.
Ether underwater, dominance as an anchor
Ether trades at $2,338.36, down 1.05% on the day and 3.25% on the week. Market cap $285.66 billion, volume $9.23 billion, dominance 10.61%. Against the $4,946.05 peak, the price is halved — 52.7% below. For the second-largest asset in the industry this is no longer a correction; it is a long breath held underwater, with occasional surfacing shorter than an average commercial break.
The balance of power in the top ten remains strange. BNB sits at $743.09, up 1.66%, with $97.73 billion in capitalization. XRP holds $1.30, up 1.44%, at $82.29 billion. Tether, with $182.46 billion in market cap and $33.74 billion of daily turnover, does not move at all — the audience that bought a ticket and has no intention of leaving its seat. USDC holds $71.57 billion, USDS $10.02 billion, USDE $4.58 billion, DAI $4.54 billion, USD1 $3.94 billion, PYUSD $3.04 billion. The money never left the market. It just sat down in the stands.
The old guard returns: privacy takes the spotlight
Zcash is the strongest story in the top 20. Price $1,217.86, up 5.39% on the day and 7.85% on the week, volume $643 million, capitalization $20.71 billion, tenth place overall. It remains 61.8% below the $3,191.93 record, but the direction is unambiguous. Monero holds $603.11, up 1.53%, at $11.35 billion with $99.50 million of volume. Two tokens that regulators spent years glaring at now post the best performance in the top 20 — as if the players the league tried to expel showed up for the playoffs and won without ceremony.
Tokenized gold is worth noting too: XAUT trades at $3,988.17, down 0.04% on the day and 3.96% on the week, with $3.23 billion in capitalization. The classic safe haven was no safer than crypto this week, a detail that quietly ruins every story about a flight to quality.
Winners: a short list with a clear hierarchy
Behind Zcash the list is short and mostly technical. LIT trades at $3.22, up 3.89%, on $59.28 million. DASH sits at $52.51, up 3.85%, with $63.31 million of turnover — another veteran from the era when privacy was discussed without legal footnotes. ENA is at $0.1962, up 3.33%, on $316.15 million. ZRO at $1.74, up 3.13%. QNT at $182.77, up 2.59%. VVV at $24.67, up 2.51%. ASTER at $0.7061, up 1.91%. PEPE at $0.00000446, up 1.88%, on $331.45 million of volume.
PEPE among the day’s winners says enough about the character of the session. When a frog token with a multi-billion-dollar capitalization rises while large infrastructure names bleed, the market is not selecting for quality. It is selecting for the story that travels fastest.
Losers: PEARL leads, big names follow
PEARL dropped 8.20% to $1.80 on a thin $8.15 million of volume. XDC lost 4.19% to $0.03184. WLD fell to $0.4537, down 3.94%, on $270.78 million — the heaviest turnover among decliners, which means the selling was organized rather than accidental. MORPHO at $2.08, down 3.60%. DOT at $1.024, down 3.49%, on $118.08 million. ETHFI at $0.6123, down 3.36%. APT at $0.6974, down 3.28%. SUI at $0.9192, down 2.99%, on $321.35 million. VET at $0.006761, down 2.98%. JUP at $0.2829, down 2.79%. FIL at $0.9179, down 2.66%. AAVE at $136.50, down 2.65%, on $208.26 million.
Solana stands at $101.25, down 0.17% on the day and 2.55% on the week, with $59.72 billion in capitalization and $2.06 billion of volume. That is 65.5% below the $293.31 record. Cardano trades at $0.2049, down 1.60% daily and 7.11% weekly, 93.4% under the $3.09 peak — a number that looks like the film was played backwards and nobody remembered to hit stop. Dogecoin at $0.076742 sits 89.5% below its high, while LINK at $11.40 is 78.4% under $52.70.
The weekly picture: capillary destruction in the second tier
Seven-day data shows where the damage is concentrated. HBAR is down 13.24%, AVAX down 9.85% at $8.84, NEAR down 9.69% at $4.48, ADA down 7.11%, TAO down 6.98% at $249.52, UNI down 6.97% at $6.76, SUI down 6.73%, LINK down 4.97%, ETH down 3.25%. At the top of the weekly board: ZEC up 7.85%, ENA up 3.51%, XMR up 3.30%, BNB up 2.85%.
A 13% weekly loss on HBAR next to a 7.85% weekly gain on ZEC inside the same top 100 means the market is not collapsing evenly. It is collapsing in layers. Infrastructure and the scalability tier lose; privacy and tokenized cash gain. This is not the rotation analysts announce on conference stages. It is the rotation executed by a handful of large books while everyone else stares at the chart looking for a cause.
Three numbers to watch
The first is $80,000 on Bitcoin — a level defended over the last 24 hours without volume, which is always a poor sign, since support without turnover is an invitation to be tested. The second is 60.09% Bitcoin dominance; every push above 61% has historically dragged altcoins into a fresh leg lower. The third is Zcash’s $20.71 billion capitalization: hold that level on volume above $500 million and the privacy story stops being noise and becomes a sector.
Stablecoins, with more than $270 billion of combined capitalization inside the top ten, are the calmest part of the market and the loudest indicator of caution. Capital is not fleeing crypto, but it refuses to take a position. That is the posture of a man who came to the game, paid for the ticket, and stands by the exit — ready to leave in a second, ready to stay if a reason appears.
