Bitcoin Back Above $83,000: Zcash and RLC Shine as Algorand and Curve Bleed Red

Bitcoin climbed back above $83,000 and added 0.88% in the past 24 hours, even as the total crypto market capitalization slipped to $2.79 trillion — 3.56% lower than a day earlier. The largest cryptocurrency trades at $83,163, roughly 34% below its all-time high of $126,080, yet firm enough that a week that began with a selloff ends without a fresh free fall.

Ethereum sits at $2,503, down 1.29% on the day and 9.32% on the week. Nearly half its value has vanished since the $4,946 peak. If Bitcoin is the captain refusing to leave the bridge, Ethereum is the sailor still bailing water out of the hold. Bitcoin dominance climbs to 59.74%, while Ethereum holds 10.94% of the market. Daily volume stands at $115.9 billion, and the Fear and Greed index has slid to 59 — still “greed”, but with far less euphoria than the 64 recorded a few days ago.

Bitcoin’s circulating supply is 20.09 million of a maximum 21 million tokens, with $40.5 billion in daily volume, and the 2013 all-time low of $67.81 now sounds like a joke from another era. Ethereum circulates 122.1 million tokens with $17.8 billion in volume.

The week, however, left deep scars. Solana at $111 lost 9.95%, XRP at $1.40 nearly ten percent, and Dogecoin at $0.085 fully 13.12%. BNB holds at $743 with a 4.51% drop, while Monero at $537 stays relatively steady with a 2.78% decline. The world’s best-known meme token now trades 88.4% below its $0.73 peak — which, truth be told, is better than many altcoins that lost even more.

Market breadth is worth a look too: the day split almost evenly. Some tokens are up double digits, but more are falling. USDT and USDC hold, as expected, within a cent of a dollar — calm as a Swiss watch in a locked display case. Capital appears to be retreating to safety until the direction clears, a pattern that repeats every time uncertainty shows up.

While most of the market counts losses, a few names refuse to join the gloom. Zcash added 2.12% to $1,233, healing part of the wounds from yesterday’s plunge, though it is still 11.96% down on the week. iExec RLC jumped 39.54% to $1.023, and on the week the gain is a dizzying 185.45% — the token is running its own race while the rest of the market stands still like a crowd in the rain. The biggest jump among larger names belongs to Kaia at 47.58%, while Starknet adds 22.83% and continues the story of a quantum-resistant Ethereum Layer 2.

Amp (AMP) also continues its quiet climb, up 15.92% to $0.000674. RLC is notable for its ratio too: daily volume of $203 million is nearly two and a half times its $89 million market cap. When volume so thoroughly outruns market cap, it usually signals a speculative stampede rather than calm accumulation.

On the other side of the spectrum, Algorand sank 10.71% to $0.119, and Curve (CRV) lost 8.93% to $0.351. Both were once headline “Ethereum killers” and “the future of DeFi liquidity”, and today they sit 96.7% and 97.7% below their peaks — a drop even the most stubborn optimist would call a “correction”. Among larger names, Convex (CVX) is red with a 9.85% loss, while Meteora (MET) gives back part of a strong week and falls 9.68%. Sentiment (SENT) and AI lost 12.58% and 9.41% — two projects whose names promise wisdom and intelligence, and the market clearly does not judge by name.

A particular curiosity is the token “US”, which doubled in value in a single day, jumping 107% to $0.0299. A 107% gain in 24 hours sounds impressive until the weekly tally appears — just 7.35%. The classic story of a token that fell first, then clawed halfway back: like a tennis player who loses the first set 6:0, takes the second 6:4, and declares a comeback.

Historically, weeks like this are not rare. Bitcoin has shed five to ten percent in a single week in earlier years, then resumed its march to new highs. But optimism belongs on a leash: a greed index of 59 is not panic, yet it is not the peak of euphoria either — the market sits somewhere between fear and hope, like a hero on a seesaw still waiting for the scale to tip.

A total capitalization of $2.79 trillion returns the market to early-autumn levels, and Bitcoin dominance near 60% says plainly where money has taken shelter while altcoins bled. The crypto scene right now looks like a movie after a big explosion: the dust has not settled, some characters are already back on their feet, others are counting injuries. Bitcoin above $83,000 is not a celebration, but it is proof the foundation still holds.
